Bathrooms are large and, even though they have no bathtubs, rain-style showers are appealing with spa-grade toiletries as a bonus. In addition to a steam room and hot tub,there are a variety of treatments available ranging from massages to pedicuresto makeup/salon services. Attached to the spa is a fitness center with cardioequipment, free- weights, and yoga mats. The outdoor pool is not large but it'sa welcome spot for cooling off, and there’s a lift in both the pool and hottub for guests with disabilities. Theproperty’s 142 guest units vary in size depending on what guests book, ranging anywherefrom a Standard Room to a Two-Floor Suite. However, one thing they all have incommon is that they're minimally decorated with a penchant for citrusy colors.Four-poster beds in rich wood are the norm; accompanying bedding is comfy andplush.
Some of the suites have two floors and balconies overlookingthe water. Interior noise can be a problem at times, but the hotelis generally peaceful. I stayed at Pier House 20 years ago at the recommendation of a colleague. I was traveling w my adult daughter this time and wanted to stay somewhere safe and private and clean and I knew I could count on Pier House. It is a treasure with its many offerings and is a welcome luxurious respite from the activities along Duval St and beyond.
